NEW FRONTIERS
As you may know, my new EP, New Frontiers has been out there for a few months, and it's been getting good reviews and radio coverage on both sides of the Atlantic.
Anne Marie Kennedy from Irish Music Magazine commented on ....Stellar arrangements, intricate playing.... tender, cascading harmonies ....calling it a fine showcase of individual and collective talents and summarized Fiona Tyndall's tribute to Jimmy MacCarthy leaves the listener wanting to hear more of her and her brilliant bandmates
In early summer 2022, in collaboration with my friend and collaborator Kathy Haynie, we created a production entitled Celtic meets Classical. In addition to many of tracks from the new album, we performed a number of classical and musical theater numbers with some excellent local musicians. We performed it as a fundraiser for the Red Cross Ukraine humanitarian fund and raised a lot of money for the worthy cause.
I also spent most of the summer 2022 in Ireland. In addition to playing at various trad sessions, and catching up with old friends, I also enjoyed adding Bodhran playing to my repertoire.
I'm playing regularly as trad sessions in The Dubliner , New Hope PA, and Mitchells, Lambertville NJ. My bodhran skills are getting better
I'm delighted to have teamed up with Nathan Bishop, a wonderful young fiddle player, and JF Morgan and we'll be playing in the Troubadour - Folk Project Morristown NJ in October 2022 (see (upcoming events)
